Quino

1932-07-17 · Mendoza, República Argentina

Joaquín Salvador Lavado, better known as Quino (1932-2020), was an Argentine humorist and cartoonist. He is best remembered for being the creator of the world-renowned comic strip character Mafalda. He was known for a satirical, critical view of the world, both within Mafalda and, more importantly, outside it. Because of his political beliefs, he went into exile during Argentina's last dictatorship.
